Carieta Thomas
Critical pedagogy informs my teaching approach. Specifically, my teaching practice is situated in a long history of Black feminist ideals that see teaching as a liberatory practice that not only imparts knowledge but teaches students how to think and critically engage with the issues of the wider world. This critical pedagogical approach hinges on a commitment to three core principles that guide my teaching practice: epistemological curiosity, relational-collaborative spaces, and intellectual activism.
